This will be fun!

I don't really know how to use this blog site but I think we can have fun sharing recipes, etc. I also hadn't seen the picture of mom. I would love to have a copy of it.
Speaking of kitchen, we cooked our Christmas dinner last Saturday the 22nd. Erin and her family were here and Bekah and Eddie. It was great having a BIG kitchen! I never felt like it was too crowded, no matter how many were in the kitchen. We had a lot of fun cooking. Erin and I made a coconut cake as that is my favorite and Tom's favorite. We combined 2 recipes because we liked things from each of them. It turned out a little moister than I wanted but tasted really good. For dinner I made a baked ham, raw veggies and dip, sweet potato casserole, crockpot dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls. It was a little of a challenge to make sure I had things that Emma could eat. She loved the raw veggies and dip. I got the shredded carrots for her to dip. Also, Erin is now a vegetarian. Friday evening I made a veggie lasagna that everyone could eat. It was a lot of fun having everyone here. On Saturday we opened presents, then the men and Ethan went by themselves to drive around a state park and ate lunch. The women, with Emma went to an antique store that has a HUGE room of all real retro clothes from ALL past decades. Hats, gloves, purses, dresses, swimsuits, coats, minks, jackets, shirts, etc. We had a blast trying on things and taking pictures. Emma even got into it. She really reminds me of Bekah. She loves dressing up.

Bekah and Eddie left Sunday morning after breakfast and Erin and family left Sunday evening about 10 p.m. Ernie and I enjoyed Monday and Tuesday catching up and cleaning. It was nice and quiet and I took a couple of naps.

I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and I have Monday and Tuesday off so am looking forward to 4 days off. I am planning to paint my kitchen. Green, of course...
